Gary sat in one of the kitchen chairs, he exhaled in relief, and closed his eyes. All of his cleanup was complete. Later today he would board a plane for Dallas, as the president of a large multi-national corporation, he had places to be.
Gary was a president who only a year ago had been framed and later cleared of involvement in a plot to weaken America. A plot that had been orchestrated by Russian sympathizers in the United States.
Press reports showed that while Gary had initially been implicated, he actually had stumbled into their plot and was able to alert the authorities in time for them to be stopped.
He had been hailed as a patriot, however Gary had reassured everyone that he had only been at the right place at the right time, overhearing a conversation and having the piece of mind to call the police. His humility won the hearts and minds of the public, Sanford, flush with cash from other ventures, opened a financial arm. Later that year, Sanford International opened branch offices in New York, and Los Angeles.
Gary let himself out of the apartment, and headed for the street, he could not miss his plane. Tonight, he would have supper with the chairman of the Senate Armed Services committee. It was turning out to be a normal day.
